Atsushi Takahara received his D. Eng in 1983 from Kyushu University, JAPAN.
In 1999, he was appointed as a professor of Kyushu University and from 2003,
he is a professor of Institute for Materials Chemistry and Engineering,
Kyushu University. Since 2004, he is a program officer of JSPS(until March 2007),
and from 2005, he is a member of the Science Council of Japan(SCJ).
He received several awards including SPSJ Polymer Science Award(2003),
Fiber Society Scientific Award(1999). His research interests include physical
properties of polymer thin films, surface/interface science of organic solids, and polymer hybrids.
